Lane matchups

Every lane, written for your level.

Your champion, theirs, the role: the lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach from Riot's own kits, for Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Riot's exact cooldowns. No tier lists, no win rates.

Written for your level

Four levels, four briefs: what decides the lane in Silver is not what decides it in Diamond.

Riot's numbers, checked

Abilities and cooldowns straight from Riot's data for this patch. A line citing anything else is dropped.

On your loading screen

Our free desktop app shows the lane for your rank while the game loads — three lines, ten seconds.

Questions

Is this a tier list or a counter list?

No. There are no win rates and no tier lists here. Our coach reads both champions' kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch, and writes how the lane plays — what to watch, when you can strike, when to back off. Coaching, not statistics.

Why is every matchup written for a level?

Because the same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond. Each matchup is written for one of four levels — Iron to Silver, Gold to Platinum, Emerald to Diamond, Master and above: the key, the window, the phases and the advice change; the abilities and Riot's cooldowns don't.

Where do the numbers come from?

From Riot's own data (Data Dragon) for the current patch. Every number in a brief is checked against it, and a line that cites anything else is dropped.

Can I get this during my games?

Yes — our free desktop app (Windows) shows the lane on your loading screen, written for your rank, the moment the game puts your opponent in your lane. Signed in on Olymps, you also see your own record in each matchup and your last game against them.
