Yone vs Kai'Sa · Bot
The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.21. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.
The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.
Short trades only; stay out of her auto range between them.
Stay behind minions to dodge the long poke.
Go in after her Q or W is spent.
How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum
Yone is melee and wants short all-ins; Kai'Sa has 525 range and wants free auto attacks. Whoever controls trade timing and spacing wins the lane.
Kai'Sa out-ranges you. Use Q (Mortal Steel) to poke when she steps up to last hit, and stay out of auto range between trades.
Get 2 Q stacks, then the third Q dashes and knocks up. Use it when she is at the wave without an escape, and play it as a short trade.
R (Fate Sealed) can catch her and a support together. Respect her R (Killer Instinct), which lets her dive onto you or your support after the trade.
Play it aggressive
Land Q (Mortal Steel) on her and your support when she walks up for a last hit, then back out before her autos stack Plasma.
After she uses Q (Icathian Rain) or W (Void Seeker), her poke is on cooldown. That is a good window to step in and trade.
With 2 Q stacks ready, go in with Q, AA, then Q again for the knockup, when your support can follow up on the airborne.
Play it safe
When her E (Supercharge) is up and she is standing close, her attack speed ramps in a longer trade. Keep your trades short.
Low health with her R (Killer Instinct) available: she can dash onto you, so back off toward your side of the lane.
Don't fight in a full minion wave while she is stacking Plasma with autos. Fight when the wave is thin.
Their threats · Riot's cooldowns
Icathian Rain seeks out nearby targets and punishes a melee champion standing in the minion wave. Trade right after it goes out, and don't stack up beside minions.
Void Seeker is a long poke that marks you with Plasma, so her next autos and spells hit harder. Stay behind minions and don't walk through the line of fire.
Killer Instinct lets her dash near a target in range, either to finish a fight or to follow up on an engage. Play safe when you are low.
Your combo
Run it when she is close to the wave: 2 Q stacks into the dash knockup, an AA, then W for the shield in a trade.

Everything about Yone →How this is written
Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
