Miss Fortune vs Caitlyn · Top
The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.21. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.
The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.
She outranges you. Wait for her to waste E, then trade.
Don't walk into bushes or choke points without vision.
Right after she misses Q or uses E.
How the lane plays · Iron – Silver
Caitlyn outranges you by 100 and wants a free poke lane; you win by closing the gap through E (Make It Rain) and punishing her mistimed Q and E.
She out-pokes you with range and Headshot. Last-hit from outside her reach, and look for Q (Double Up) through a minion when she walks up to farm.
Watch her W (Yordle Snap Trap) placements and E (90 Caliber Net) cooldown. Once she spends E, you can walk up with W (Strut) and trade AAs.
Your R (Bullet Time) punishes a Caitlyn who stands still at the edge of her range. Her R hits far, so avoid staying low in open lane.
Play it aggressive
When she uses E (90 Caliber Net) or misses a Q, step up with W (Strut) and use your Love Tap with Q to win the trade.
When she steps up to last-hit a minion, hit her with Q (Double Up) through a minion, then back off before her Headshot.
When her wave is pushed into yours and she is low on mana from W and Q, you can E (Make It Rain) and AA to force her back.
Play it safe
Don't walk over bushes or choke points with no vision; she can put a trap there and punish you for free.
Don't chase her after she nets away. She out-ranges you and her turret and jungler can punish you.
When you are low, keep distance. Her Q and Headshot can finish you from further than you expect.
Their threats · Riot's cooldowns
Traps root you and give her an empowered Headshot at doubled range. Don't walk over odd bushes or lane spots; step around them when she has mana.
A long, slow-to-fire line shot that hurts when you stand in line with minions. Step sideways as soon as she starts revving it up.
Net slows you and knocks her back, often setting up Q or a trapped Headshot. Stay out of her range when it's up and you're low.
Your combo
Use it when she has spent her E or missed Q and stands in range. Finish with E to slow her while you retreat.

Everything about Miss Fortune →How this is written
Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
