Ahri vs Akali · Mid

The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.21. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.

Written for

The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.

MidAhri vs AkaliGold – Platinum
The key

Land Charm first. Don't chase her into smoke.

Akali R — Perfect Execution
Watch · R · Perfect Execution120 → 60 s

Keep your health up and respect the double leap.

Ahri E — Charm›Ahri W — Fox-Fire›Ahri Q — Orb of Deception
Your window

Charm her after she wastes Q or E.

How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum

Ahri outranges Akali and wins by landing E (Charm) safely, while Akali looks to close in with energy trades, W (Twilight Shroud) resets and a level 6 all-in.

Levels 1-2

Poke with Q (Orb of Deception) on the wave and keep E (Charm) ready. Akali's energy is tight, so she has to choose her trades. Stay out of her Q (Five Point Strike) range.

Levels 3-5

Look for E (Charm) into Q and W (Fox-Fire) when she steps up to last hit. Her E (Shuriken Flip) can reach you, so don't stand where the shuriken lines up.

Level 6+

Her R (Perfect Execution) gives her gap-closing burst. Keep your R (Spirit Rush) for escaping or for finishing a fight after landing E (Charm), and don't spend it early.

Play it aggressive

When her Q (Five Point Strike) is spent and her energy is low, land E (Charm) and follow with Q and W for a full trade.

Poke with Q (Orb of Deception) while she is last hitting. She has to step into your range to farm.

After she uses E (Shuriken Flip) or W (Twilight Shroud) without landing anything, her escape is on cooldown. That is your window to start a trade.

Play it safe

When she has R (Perfect Execution) and you are at low health, back off. She can leap in from beyond your Charm range.

Don't chase her into Twilight Shroud (W). Smoke can hide her, and your Q and E can't target her inside it.

If your E (Charm) misses, play safe. Akali can close the gap and trade while you wait on its cooldown.

Their threats · Riot's cooldowns

Akali R — Perfect Execution
R · Perfect Execution120 → 60 s

Perfect Execution is a double leap that executes low-health targets. Keep your health up after level 6 and hold R (Spirit Rush) to get away.

Akali E — Shuriken Flip
E · Shuriken Flip16 → 10 s

Shuriken Flip marks you or a smoke cloud, then she dashes in. Sidestep the shuriken, or Charm her when she recasts to dash.

Akali W — Twilight Shroud
W · Twilight Shroud20 → 16 s

Twilight Shroud makes her untargetable and invisible in the smoke, so your spells can't pick her. Don't chase into it. Wait until she attacks, which reveals her.

Your combo

Start with E (Charm) from max range. Add W (Fox-Fire) and Q (Orb of Deception) while she walks toward you, then finish with AA.

How this is written

Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
