How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum
Caitlyn out-ranges Ezreal on basic attacks, but his Q (Mystic Shot) pokes from further than her AA. Win by trapping his dodges and punishing his E (Arcane Shift) windows.
Your 650 range beats his 550 on AA. Last-hit from max range, use Q on the wave to poke, and be careful about eating Q (Mystic Shot) while you step up.
Put W (Yordle Snap Trap) behind the wave or on your own cheap-to-defend spots. When he uses E, you can punish his missing escape with Q or E (90 Caliber Net).
Both ults hit from across the map. Keep HP out of kill range from his R (Trueshot Barrage), and look for a kill when he has E down and is slowed.
Play it aggressive
When his E is on cooldown, you can trap his position with W (Yordle Snap Trap) and then Q, since he has no blink to dodge.
After he spends Q on minions, step up with AA to use your 100-range advantage while his poke is down.
When his wave is pushed toward you and he is slowed by E (90 Caliber Net), look for headshot trades or a kill with your support.
Play it safe
When his E is up and you're low, a blink plus Q and W burst can finish you. Back off to the tower.
When you have no mana for Q or W, don't walk into his Q range. Poke would win the trade.
After level 6, if you're low on health, his R (Trueshot Barrage) can hit you from anywhere. Recall before you drop into kill range.

Long, low-cooldown poke that also shortens his other cooldowns on a hit. Stand behind minions so the bolt gets blocked, and don't walk up in a straight line.
Blink plus a homing bolt, so he can dodge your trade or hit you from nowhere. Hold your Q or E (90 Caliber Net) for after he blinks.
Orb sticks on you and detonates when he hits you with another ability. Avoid taking extra Q or E hits while it is on you.
