Kalista vs Aphelios · Support
The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.21. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.
The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.
Check his weapon, bait his Q, then lunge in.
Don't walk into a root or poke.
Right after he wastes or misses his Q.
How the lane plays · Emerald – Diamond
Both supports can poke and open a fight. Kalista wins by lunging in and stacking spears, while Aphelios wins by choosing the right weapon at the right time.
Weave lunge auto attacks and Q (Pierce) to put spears on him, then E (Rend) when the slow gets a trade. Watch your mana, since E has a cost.
Set up waves with your carry: slow push into a crash if you want to threaten a dive or take river vision with W (Sentinel). Watch which weapon he holds.
R (Fate's Call) brings your ally in with a knockback dash, and his R (Moonlight Vigil) punishes clumped fights. Track both ultimates and both junglers before you engage.
Play it aggressive
After he uses his Q on your carry or a minion, lunge in with AA, Q and E for a short trade before he can follow up.
When the wave is pushing into him, his side is stuck, and you can set up vision and spears without taking his poke.
When his jungler is seen away from the lane, an R engage with your carry is much safer.
Play it safe
Respect Gravitum: a slow plus a root in a brush or near the wall can turn a short trade into a lost lane.
Don't stack your carry in a straight line when his R is up. One blast can hit both of you.
When your W (Sentinel) hasn't scouted the river, play deeper in your own half, since an unseen jungler can punish a lunge.
Their threats · Riot's cooldowns
His Q changes with the weapon in his main hand. Gravitum roots slowed targets and Calibrum pokes from range, so check his weapon before you step up.
A long-range blast that explodes on champions and carries his main-hand weapon effect. Don't group tightly in its line, and fight when it's spent.
He cycles weapons as ammo runs out, and W (Phase) swaps them quickly. Treat each swap as a new threat, and punish the awkward weapons.
Your combo
Q to put a spear on him, AA with the lunge to stack another, then E to slow and finish the trade.

Everything about Kalista →How this is written
Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
