Draven vs Jinx · Bot

The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.21. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.

Written for

The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.

Trade when her grenades are down; never chase into them.

How the lane plays · Iron – Silver

Draven wants short, aggressive trades while Jinx wants space and range, so the lane turns on who stands where when her Flame Chompers and your axes are down.

Levels 1-2

Draven's Q (Spinning Axe) and AA trade hard here. Jinx has 525 range, so step up only when her minigun attacks are spent on minions.

Levels 3-5

Catching axes resets W (Blood Rush) and keeps your damage up. Jinx's E (Flame Chompers) can root you, so avoid walking blindly over the ground in front of her.

Level 6+

Both ultimates can end fights. Your R (Whirling Death) can execute weakened targets, while Jinx's R (Super Mega Death Rocket) can snipe you from across the map when you're low.

Play it aggressive

After Jinx throws E (Flame Chompers), you can step up with Q (Spinning Axe) and AA while her best setup is down.

When her W (Zap!) is missed or spent, look for a short trade with Q and AA while her slow is gone.

If she walks up to last-hit without watching your E (Stand Aside), use E to push her aside and follow with Q and AA.

Play it safe

When Jinx has Fishbones out with her extra range, don't walk into poke. Wait until she switches to Pow-Pow or loses mana.

If your axes are dropping out of reach, drop the trade. Missing catches costs damage and tempo, so reset your position first.

When you are low in lane, back off before ult range. Hanging around gives Jinx a free kill with her R.

Their threats · Riot's cooldowns

Jinx E — Flame Chompers!
E · Flame Chompers!24 → 10 s

Roots you where you stand. Don't chase through grenades, and fight from the side when she has just thrown them so you aren't stuck in a trade.

Jinx W — Zap!
W · Zap!8 → 4 s

Long-range slow that reveals you. Stay behind minions when it's up, since a slowed Draven loses axe catches and takes extra poke.

Jinx R — Super Mega Death Rocket!
R · Super Mega Death Rocket!85 → 45 s

Global rocket that hits harder on low health. Don't hang at the edge of death range in lane after a trade, and recall earlier.

How this is written

Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
