How the lane plays · Emerald – Diamond
Ahri outranges Locke and wants to poke and charm from afar, while Locke wants to land a Q mark, close with E, and win the short trade.
Stay out of melee range and trade with Q (Orb of Deception) on the wave. Locke's passive punishes low health, so avoid dropping low early.
With W (Fox-Fire) up, you can start trades with E (Charm). Keep the wave near your side so Locke has to walk up and eat Q.
Both ultimates change the lane. Respect R (Purgatory) at low health; use R (Spirit Rush) to reposition after a charm, not to dive blindly.
Play it aggressive
After Locke wastes E (Ashen Pursuit) on a minion or poke, land E (Charm) and follow with Q and W while he's stuck.
When he misses Q (Ritual Nails) on the wave, trade with Q and W at range, since he has no mark for AA.
Push the wave when your jungler is nearby, then charm Locke as he walks up to defend his tower.
Play it safe
When Locke has Q and E up and the wave is at his side, he can close and win a trade. Give him space.
Low health in range of R (Purgatory) is risky because of its execute. Back off to heal before trading again.
If your E (Charm) is on cooldown, a Locke jump-in is hard to answer. Hold position near your tower or jungler.

Ashen Pursuit teleports him to a spot, then dashes at his next target. Keep spacing and don't stand where a teleport-and-dash lands on you.
Purgatory can execute at low health. Stay healthy after trades, and don't linger in range of a thrown artifact when you're hurt.
Ritual Nails marks you, and his attacks consume marks for bonus damage. Sidestep the nails and avoid melee range while marked.
