How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum
Both mages out-range your melee threats; the lane turns on who eats the long-range skillshot first, Ahri's Charm or your stun setup.
Ahri's Q (Orb of Deception) outranges your Q. Trade with Q on the wave and keep your Q sphere ready for E, but don't stand in her line.
With Q, W and E you can threaten a stun. Look for E (Scatter the Weak) through a sphere once her Charm is spent, then shove and reset.
Both ults kill if you misstep. Keep spheres stocked for R (Unleashed Power), and stay out of Charm range when her dash recasts are up.
Play it aggressive
After she misses Charm, you can walk up and hit Q into E for a stun while her cooldown is down.
When she uses Q to clear the wave, you can answer with your Q and W to trade back and push.
Once you have a few spheres up, R can finish her after a stun, since she is weak when poked down.
Play it safe
While Ahri's E (Charm) is available, don't walk beyond your minions where a straight skillshot can reach you.
At low health, stay away from her W (Fox-Fire) and R. She can run you down with her speed and dashes.
After you spend your E on poke, you have no peel, so back off the lane until it returns.

Charm pulls you out of position and stops your dashes. You have no escape besides E, so stay out of its line behind minions.
Long-range poke, and the return pass hurts more than you expect. Sidestep the orb on its way back, and don't stand in the lane's middle line.
Her dash gives her multiple recasts to chase you or reset a fight. Respect her once it's up and keep E for defense.
