Yasuo vs Jhin · Top

The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.22. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.

Written for

The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.

The key

Dash through minions to him; don't walk into his root.

Jhin W — Deadly Flourish

Wind Wall blocks it; stay out of its line otherwise.

Your window

When his Q and W are spent or reloading.

How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum

Jhin outranges you and wants to poke and root you from afar; you win by dashing in through minions, using Wind Wall, and punishing him when his spells are spent.

Levels 1-2

He out-pokes you with range and Q (Dancing Grenade). Stay near minions, build Flow by moving, and look to trade after he spends mana or his reload.

Levels 3-5

With E (Sweeping Blade) up and a minion nearby, you can dash in. Respect his W (Deadly Flourish) root and invisible E traps when you commit.

Level 6+

R (Last Breath) needs an Airborne target, and Jhin has no dash. A Q knockup into R is a real kill threat. His R (Curtain Call) is dangerous when you are low.

Play it aggressive

When he has just used Q and W, dash through a minion to reach him and trade with Q and AA.

Stack Q on minions first so your next Q onto Jhin comes with an instant knockup.

After he reloads or misses W, you can go in. At level 6, follow a knockup with R.

Play it safe

When his W is ready and you're hurt, stay out of its line or keep Wind Wall ready; the root makes a kill easy.

Before dashing onto an unwarded wave, remember he can drop a trap on your path; a slow near his minions loses the trade.

When his R is up and you're low, don't stay in the open; his shots reach far and punish low health.

Their threats · Riot's cooldowns

Jhin W — Deadly Flourish
W · Deadly Flourish12 s

Long-range shot that roots if he has already damaged you or a trap hit you. Wind Wall blocks it; don't stand in line with low health.

Jhin E — Captive Audience
E · Captive Audience2 s

Invisible trap that slows and damages. Be careful when dashing into bushes, near his minions, or where he's backing up. A slow plus W root is his setup.

Jhin P — Whisper
P · Whisper

His fourth shot crits and executes, then gives him Move Speed. Count his shots; when he's down to reload, that's your window to engage.

At level 6: stack Q on a minion, dash E to a target, Q again for the knockup, then R onto Jhin and AA.

How this is written

Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
