How the lane plays · Emerald – Diamond
Sylas wants short, sustained fights with W heals and chain pulls; Master Yi wants to snowball a clean clear, so deny free tempo and punish Q misuse.
Yi's Q (Alpha Strike) clears fast and untargetable dodging is strong. Sylas can win a fight where W (Kingslayer) heals and P procs line up; avoid invading blind.
Sylas has E (Abscond / Abduct) for ganks and scuttle. Look for a scuttle fight when Yi's Q is spent, since it is his dodge and gap closer.
Yi's R (Highlander) makes him hard to kite. Sylas can steal it with R (Hijack) for a chase or fight, but only if Yi uses it first.
Play it aggressive
Contest scuttle after Yi spends Q on camps or a lane; E onto him, W, then AA a P charge.
Fight him near camps when W is up for healing and he lacks Meditate, so you win the sustained trade.
Take Highlander with R mid-fight if he commits it, and chase or turn the fight with it.
Play it safe
Don't invade his buff when his Q and W are both up; he dodges your engage and wins the extended brawl.
Avoid long chases once Highlander is active: slow immunity and speed let him outrun you and reset on kills.
Stay near your laners without E up, because Yi can dive and win a one-on-one after your escape is spent.

Alpha Strike makes Yi untargetable and dodges your Q or E chains. Bait it with a cheap spell first, then commit your key pull.
Meditate reduces damage and heals while he stacks Double Strike. Don't burn burst into it; wait for it to end, then trade.
Highlander gives speed, attack speed and slow immunity, so your Q slow won't stop him. Use E to hit him, or save your own R.
