Briar vs Nidalee · Jungle

The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.22. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.

The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.

How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum

Briar wants to jump on Nidalee and stay stuck to her; Nidalee wants to poke from range and avoid getting caught without a trap or Pounce.

Levels 1-2

Nidalee clears with range and Q (Javelin Toss) poke. Briar is best when she closes with Q (Head Rush) and trades in melee, so look for her at camps.

Levels 3-5

Both of you want the scuttle. Nidalee can see you with Q or W (Bushwhack) hits, so path carefully, then look to Q in and stun her on the crab.

Level 6+

Briar's R (Certain Death) reaches her anywhere on the map. Nidalee can chain cougar form, so hold your stun for her Pounce and save R for a pick.

Play it aggressive

When her Q is on cooldown, you can leap in with Q (Head Rush) and fight her in melee range, where Briar's bleed heals you.

Invade a camp when you see her pushing a lane, because she is weak when pulled out of position.

At the scuttle, Q (Head Rush) on her first, then W (Blood Frenzy), to take the crab and the fight.

Play it safe

Don't walk into brush or a camp edge without checking for a trap, since a sprung Bushwhack reveals you and hurts.

At low HP she can finish you with cougar form. Back off or heal first rather than chase.

Don't chase her in a straight line while Q is up. She can poke you from range as you run.

How this is written

Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
