Zac vs Bel'Veth · Top

The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.22. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.

Written for

The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.

How the lane plays · Emerald – Diamond

Zac wants to grab one angle and fight on his terms; Bel'Veth wants a long, drawn-out trade with her Q dashing in and out and her E channel winning the close fight.

Levels 1-2

Zac has no resource, so W (Unstable Matter) trades are free. Bel'Veth's Q (Void Surge) dashes keep her mobile. Look for short W and AA trades while her E is down.

Levels 3-5

With Q and E online, Zac can bait her W (Above and Below) and then engage. Keep the wave near your side so she can't freely dash in.

Level 6+

R (Let's Bounce!) lets Zac lock her down and thread in jungle help. Bel'Veth gains stacks and gets harder to stop in an extended fight, so end it early.

Play it aggressive

After she spends W on the wave or on you, Zac can use E (Elastic Slingshot) and Q to start a short trade.

When her E is on cooldown, close with Q and AA, since she can't channel to win the trade.

Once you have R, set up a gank with your jungler by pushing the wave so she is stuck at the edge.

Play it safe

While her E is up and you are inside her range, back off, because the lifesteal and damage reduction swing the trade.

Her passive stacks make long fights worse for you, so avoid dragging trades out.

If her W is up and your E is down, don't walk up to her without a plan.

Their threats · Riot's cooldowns

Bel'Veth E — Royal Maelstrom
E · Royal Maelstrom24 → 12 s

Royal Maelstrom roots her in place and gives lifesteal and damage reduction, so extended trades in her range go badly. Step out of range or wait it out.

Bel'Veth W — Above and Below
W · Above and Below12 → 8 s

Above and Below knocks up and slows in a wide arc. Stay out of its range, or bait it with a step in before you commit your E.

Bel'Veth Q — Void Surge
Q · Void Surge4 → 1 s

Void Surge is a short, repeatable dash that lets her close in or reset spacing. Do not count on a free retreat; expect it to be there.

How this is written

Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
