How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum
Irelia has reach and dash tools to trade on cooldowns, while Tryndamere wants long fights and a free R (Undying Rage) to cancel your kill.
Use Q (Bladesurge) on minions to close the gap and poke with AA. Tryndamere builds Fury in extended trades, so keep fights short and leave.
With E (Flawless Duet) you can stun and Mark him, then Q resets on the Marked target. Keep W (Defiant Dance) as a trade tool and watch his E.
Your R (Vanguard's Edge) adds damage and a Mark, but his R can erase a kill. Look for the all-in when his R is spent.
Play it aggressive
When his E is on cooldown, step in with Q, E and AA to stun him and trade before he can chase.
After he wastes R early, you can go for a full all-in with E, Q resets and W.
When the wave is pushed toward you and he has low Fury, harass with Q, AA and leave before he builds more.
Play it safe
While his R is up and you are low, avoid long fights: he can survive and kill you back.
If you have no minions near for Q, he can E onto you, so stay careful at the wave edge.
When he has high Fury, he can heal with Q (Bloodlust) mid-trade, so do not chase a half-health Tryndamere carelessly.
Their threats · Riot's cooldowns
Undying Rage means he cannot die for its duration. Do not blow all your cooldowns on him while it is up; step back and let it end.
Spinning Slash lets him close the gap and hit you through your space. Do not rely on range alone; keep Q on a minion to dash out.
Mocking Shout lowers your Attack Damage, and slows you if you turn your back. Avoid running straight away; use Q to dash instead.
