Yone vs Yasuo · Mid
The lane in ten seconds, then the whole brief — written by our coach for your level, from Riot's own kits for patch 16.22. Every number checked against Riot's data. Options, never orders.
The same lane is not played the same way in Silver and in Diamond: pick your level, the advice changes. Signed in, Olymps opens on your rank. Coaching, not statistics — the abilities and Riot's cooldowns are the same at every level.
Win by tracking his Q stacks. A Q3 hit is his best opening.
Keep minions between you when he has two stacks.
Right after his Q goes on cooldown.
How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum
Mirror matchup of two Q-stack duelists: whoever lands the knock-up first and has the dash or spirit ready wins the short trades.
Trade Q poke into AA when his Q is on cooldown. Stay off his E (Sweeping Blade) path: minions beside him mean he can close the gap.
Count Gathering Storm stacks on both sides. E (Soul Unbound) lets you Q and AA from your spirit, then snap back to your body. Look for those trades.
His R (Last Breath) needs you airborne, so his Q3 knock-up becomes lethal. Yours is a flash-like engage: R pulls him and anything behind him.
Play it aggressive
After he spends his Q on a minion, Q and AA him to bait the shield, then W (Spirit Cleave) to shield yourself.
When his E has no minions to dash through, trade with Q, AA and W. He has trouble escaping or re-engaging.
At level 6, if he is knocked up or pinned, R into your own Q3 can finish him. Check for an easy kill.
Play it safe
Respect his Q3 range when you have no E (Soul Unbound) or W (Spirit Cleave) shield. Stay behind your minions to avoid the knock-up.
A fresh passive shield absorbs your first hit. Wait for it to pop before committing to a long trade.
After level 6, don't stand still in Q range with no escape. A knock-up into his R is the main risk.
Their threats · Riot's cooldowns
Two hits make a knock-up, and it counts as a basic attack, so crits hurt. Track his stacks and avoid walking into the third.
Dashes through minions to close distance and turns his Q into a circle. Fight when few minions or targets are near him.
Blinks to any airborne enemy and extends the knock-up. After level 6, a Q3 landing on you can start a full combo.
Your combo
Use it when his Q is on cooldown and few minions are near: poke from spirit form, shield with W, then recast E to return.

Everything about Yone →How this is written
Our coach reads both kits exactly as Riot publishes them for the current patch — abilities, cooldowns, costs, ranges — and writes the lane for one level at a time: Iron – Silver, Gold – Platinum, Emerald – Diamond, Master+. Every number in the text is checked against Riot's data; a line that cites anything else is dropped. No win rates, no tier lists: coaching, not statistics.
