How the lane plays · Gold – Platinum
Miss Fortune out-ranges you from level 1, so you win by closing the gap with Q (Thundering Smash) and punishing her when she can't kite.
She pokes with AA and Q (Double Up) while you have no gap closer. Stay near minions, soak the poke, and look to trade when she steps up to last-hit.
With Q, W (Frenzied Maul) and E (Sky Splitter) you can commit. Best when your support engages or she has used Q and E, then go all in.
Your R (Stormbringer) gives you a long gap closer, and her R (Bullet Time) punishes you if you stand still. Trade around who has R up.
Play it aggressive
After she wastes Q or E on minions or your support, look to close with Q (Thundering Smash) and stun her.
When she walks up for a last-hit, you can step in with Q and W for a short trade.
Once your Q and E are up at level 3, look for an engage together with your support's setup.
Play it safe
At level 1-2 when she has full mana and Q up, don't stand in front of the wave to take free poke.
Don't walk into her E (Make It Rain) slow without a plan; it lets her kite you.
When her R is up and you're low, don't hold a fight in a straight line with your support.

Long-range poke that bounces to a target behind. Standing behind minions makes her hit you through them, so stay off the line between minion and her.
Slows you in an area, and a slowed Volibear gets kited. Step out of the area early and don't walk in to trade while it's on you.
A channelled cone with large damage. Stay out of its line, break line of sight, or use your own R or Flash to get out or on top of her.
